What are the responsibilities and job description for the VOCA Client Advocate-Full-time position at Safe Harbor of Northeast Kentucky?
The Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA) client advocate will provide support to domestic violence victims in criminal justice proceedings, including transportation to court, childcare, filing of temporary restraining orders, etc. Also, the advocate will actively work in the area of prevention, including education work in FIVCO ADD schools, churches, colleges, hospitals, physicians' offices, beauty shops, etc. The advocate will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and counseling through in-person contact or the 24-hour crisis hotline. The advocate also will provide group activities for victims of domestic violence, offer housing and related support services and offer information and referral services to victims and their children. Must have a bachelor's degree in social work or related field, plus the successful candidate should have a minimum of one year of experience in the field. . Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, midnights, and weekends since we are a 24-hour facility. This position includes lifting, cleaning, and unloading.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
