Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning, cooking, and cleanup to meet individual dietary needs
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance - Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy standards like HIPAA and contribute to ongoing care plan development
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and hospice or palliative care is advantageous
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or can be obtained upon hire
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work flexible shifts including evenings or weekends as needed
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient safety protocols is desirable
- A genuine passion for caregiving combined with patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude toward supporting others
