Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing home health care team! In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life in the comfort of their own homes. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in evaluating patients' physical abilities and limitations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and in collaboration with the Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions like therapeutic exercises, gait training, and modalities to improve patients' strength, mobility, balance, and coordination.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper exercise techniques, safety precautions, and home modifications to promote self-care and prevent future injury.
- Document treatment progress, outcomes, and any changes in the patient's condition accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including nurses, social workers, and physicians.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in physical therapy through continuing education.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- PTA License
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a home health care setting (preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform job-related tasks which may require physical exertion, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
