Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support clients’ developmental goals.
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Assist with patient assessments and intake processes by gathering relevant information and supporting diagnostic evaluations.
- Support clients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and engaging environment that encourages learning and growth.
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and families to ensure consistency in behavioral strategies across settings.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, medical records, and reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, special education, medical terminology, and patient care best practices.
- Support the implementation of behavioral health interventions tailored for children and individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Assist in the development and execution of patient care plans by conducting behavioral assessments under supervision.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all medical records and sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, especially applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Ability to collect detailed data during therapy sessions accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with special education principles and patient assessment procedures.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices, including maintaining accurate medical records and understanding medical terminology.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients’ families, team members, and healthcare professionals.
