Safe Auto Repair is seeking a hands-on Automotive Shop Operations Lead to own daily operations at our Mont Belvieu location. You will connect the front counter and shop floor, support service advisors and technicians, and work with ownership to improve customer experience, sales, productivity, and profitability.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Coordinate daily workflow, technician assignments, repair priorities, parts availability, and promised completion times.
- Lead daily huddles and keep advisors and technicians aligned on the plan for each vehicle.
- Support advisors with estimates, customer updates, follow-up, and presenting needed repairs clearly and honestly.
- Monitor open repair orders and resolve delays involving approvals, parts, inspections, and communication.
- Coach team members, set clear expectations, address performance issues respectfully, and follow through on commitments.
- Track sales, gross profit, labor productivity, parts costs, and customer concerns. Turn performance reports into practical actions.
- Oversee parts purchasing, returns, inventory accuracy, warranty documentation, and repair-order completion with the team.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and follow through on service quality and comeback issues.
- Maintain accurate records in Tekmetric and reinforce clean, organized, safe working practices.
- Step in where needed and support the entire team's success.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience leading an automotive repair shop, service department, or service-advisor team.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair workflow, estimating, parts coordination, and customer service.
- The ability to coach people, hold them accountable respectfully, and handle difficult conversations directly.
- Comfort reading shop performance reports and connecting daily decisions to sales, gross profit, and expenses.
- Strong organization, communication, and follow-through in a busy environment.
- Experience using shop-management software; Tekmetric experience is a plus.
- A team-first approach and a commitment to honest recommendations, accurate records, and ethical sales practices.
