Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide essential support in various caregiving capacities. The ideal candidate will have experience in home and community care, assisting individuals with daily living activities, and working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and Alzheimer's care. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively monitor patient needs while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and support in various settings including group homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.
- Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate records of patient observations.
- Administer medications as per care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, including the use of Hoyer lifts for patient transfers.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with caregiving practices for individuals with disabilities, autism, or developmental challenges is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is essential; certification is a plus.
- Experience in patient observation and monitoring is required to ensure the well-being of clients.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
