Compensation: $150 per month, per child transported
Job Summary
Safari Kid Downtown Hayward is seeking a reliable, safe, and caring Part-Time Driver to transport school-age children from nearby elementary schools to our preschool each weekday. The ideal candidate has an excellent driving record, enjoys working with children, and is committed to ensuring their safety during transportation.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
- Approximately 1.5 hours per day
Responsibilities
- Pick up children from designated nearby schools according to the assigned schedule.
- Safely transport children to Safari Kid Downtown Hayward.
- Ensure children are properly accounted for during pick-up and drop-off.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment in the vehicle.
- Follow all traffic laws and school pick-up procedures.
- Communicate promptly with school staff and Safari Kid management regarding any delays or issues.
- Perform basic vehicle safety checks before each shift.
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Clean driving record.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working with young children.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift light items such as children's backpacks if needed.
Requirements
- Successful background check is required before employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain if required).
- Must have access to a safe, reliable, and properly insured vehicle suitable for transporting children (or be able to operate a school-provided vehicle, if applicable).
Compensation
- $150 per month for each child assigned to your transportation route.
- Part-time position with a consistent weekday schedule.
