Optikus, the Prescription Safety Eyewear Division of Saf-Gard®, is seeking a customer-focused professional to support existing corporate accounts while helping expand our presence throughout the Dallas Fort Worth territory. This position combines hands-on fitting and dispensing responsibilities with account management, customer relationship building, and territory growth.

As a Sales Optician, you'll work directly with employees, corporate customers, program managers and prescribing providers to deliver prescription safety eyewear solutions that help workers stay safe and productive on the job. You'll enjoy a high degree of independence while working as part of a supportive and growing team.

What You'll Do

Optical Services & Customer Care

• Assist customers with frame selection, lens types, and lens treatments based on their individual needs
• Perform fitting and dispensing services to ensure proper fit, comfort, and visual performance
• Educate customers on prescription safety eyewear options and available products
• Verify eyewear orders for accuracy and communicate order updates promptly
• Dispense completed orders and provide exceptional follow-up service
• Maintain a high standard of customer care throughout the customer experience

Account Management & Territory Development

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships with corporate accounts, program managers, and prescribing doctors
• Support existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities for growth
• Coordinate customer visits and maintain an organized travel schedule
• Serve as a trusted resource for customers participating in safety eyewear programs

Business Development & Sales Support

• Prospect for new business opportunities within assigned territories
• Support presentations and program introductions for prospective customers
• Assist with expanding prescription safety eyewear programs among existing and new accounts
• Develop relationships that support long-term customer retention and account growth
• Maintain knowledge of current optical products, lens technologies, and safety eyewear solutions

Order Management & Administrative Support

• Place accurate eyewear orders through VisionWeb and related ordering systems
• Verify order details and maintain accurate customer records
• Support order tracking and customer communication throughout the fulfillment process
• Maintain organized documentation and territory activity records

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience as an optician, dispensing optician, or in a related optical role
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Experience with fitting and dispensing eyewear products
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
• Professional communication and presentation skills
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in optical sales, eyewear sales, outside sales, or business-to-business sales
• Account management or territory management experience
• Experience using VisionWeb ordering systems
• Knowledge of prescription safety eyewear programs and ANSI Z87.1 safety standards
• ABO certification, state optician licensure, or related industry credentials
• Familiarity with lens treatments, frame adjustments, repairs, and optical measurements

Travel & Schedule

• Full-time position
• Travel throughout Dallas Fort Worth Territory
• Customer visits are scheduled in advance
• Combination of onsite customer visits, account management activities, and administrative responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

• Company-paid dental, vision, long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance beginning the first of the month after 60 days

• PTO is available after 90 days, accrued bi-weekly at a rate of 3.08 hours (2 weeks annualized after 1st year). Bi-weekly accrual rate increases to 4.62 hours after 7 years (3 weeks annualized)
