Overview
We are seeking a safety-focused and detail-oriented Chemical Technician to support chemical and gas operations at an active industrial site. This role is critical to ensuring the safe transfer, handling, and monitoring of hazardous materials in compliance with site and regulatory safety standards.
The ideal candidate is dependable, highly observant, and comfortable working in environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities
- Wear HAZMAT PPE Level C while performing chemical and gas handling operations.
- Connect and disconnect hoses from chemical delivery trucks and totes supplying required chemicals and gases.
- Monitor chemical and gas transfer processes continuously to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Identify and respond to potential leaks or hazardous conditions within the facility or chemical areas.
- Follow site emergency response procedures and notify appropriate personnel in the event of a leak or safety incident.
- Conduct routine inspections of chemical storage, transfer equipment, and facility areas.
- Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, incidents, and transfer activities.
- Support overall site safety initiatives and comply with OSHA and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Some level of proficiency in Korean is mandatory
- Experience working in industrial, chemical, construction, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Ability to wear HAZMAT PPE Level C, including respirators and chemical-resistant protective gear.
- Understanding of chemical handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and work in active industrial environments.
- OSHA training or HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
