Electronic Subassembly Technician

Badge in, strap on your ESD wristband, and review the traveler and work instructions for the build. You pull parts against the bill of materials, set torque tools, and begin assembling electronic subassemblies with care—routing and dressing wires to workmanship standards. Mid-morning, you run continuity checks and multimeter readings, documenting results and isolating anything suspect for the quality team. After lunch, you update lot traceability and quantities, complete final inspection, and leave your 5S station clean, stocked, and ready for the next run.

• Assemble electronic products and subassemblies using common hand tools and fixtures (screwdrivers, torque drivers, crimpers, cutters, strippers).
• Prepare and terminate cables/connectors to specification; route, tie, and dress wiring to workmanship standards.
• Interpret work orders, BOMs, assembly drawings, schematics (as applicable), and written instructions.
• Perform in-process and final visual/functional checks and record outcomes as required.
• Operate basic test equipment (multimeter, continuity tester, power supply) and log readings.
• Identify nonconforming parts or process issues; segregate suspect product and alert supervision/quality.
• Maintain accurate records: travelers, lot/serial traceability, and time/quantity reporting.
• Practice 5S/lean—keep tools organized, replenish materials, and sustain a clean bench.
• Follow safety, quality, and ESD procedures and all company policies.
• Support related production tasks as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent blend of education and experience).
• 1 year in manufacturing assembly; electronics experience preferred.
• Comfort following detailed written instructions and standardized processes.
• Mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand tools.
• Consistency in repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail and quality.
• Basic math and measurement skills (including rulers/calipers, as needed).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
• Clear, professional communication with peers and leads.
• Compliance with ESD, safety, and quality expectations.

• Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards (IPC-A-610) and/or J-STD soldering.
• Soldering (through-hole and/or surface-mount), rework/repair.
• Wire harness/cable assembly and precision crimping to spec.
• Use of ERP/MRP and electronic work instructions.
• Work in regulated systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
• Forklift/pallet jack operation (as applicable).

• Production/manufacturing floor setting.
• Frequent standing or sitting, repetitive hand movements, fine motor work.
• Lift/move 25–40 lbs as needed.
• Visual acuity for small parts/markings (with corrective lenses if required).
• PPE and adherence to ESD controls required.
• Overtime may be required based on business needs.
