In this energetic role, you will handle cash handling, operate POS (Point of Sale) systems, and deliver exceptional customer service. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help ensure smooth store operations while creating a welcoming environment for all shoppers. We are seeking cashiers for our 4pm-midnight and 11pm-7am shifts. Weekends are required as they are our busiest time of the week!
Duties
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods confidently while maintaining accurate cash drawer balances
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stocking and inventory counts to support store efficiency
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and balancing registers accurately
- Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone professionally
- Demonstrated ability to supervise or assist in supervising team members is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
