Position Summary: 

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of SaddlebackMedical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Scheduler III supporting Radiology procedures is responsible for scheduling for all Radiology procedures.  Schedules all invasive and non-invasive radiology and special interventional procedures. Collects and compiles accurate information for hospital records and timely reimbursement. Coordinates procedures accurately to ensure proper equipment, time, personnel, and location. Demonstrates technical expertise in all aspects of scheduling. Completes the Scheduling process in a timely manner to assist in prompt treatment of the patient. Assists with the scheduling process by maintaining Radiology schedules in collaboration with the health care team, maintaining and achieving fiscal and quality care goals. Multi-task oriented with the ability to prioritize and coordinate the essential job functions. Maintains effective working relations with coworkers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff members to ensure workflow effectiveness. Greets and assists all customers and coworkers whether in person or by telephone, utilizing Memorial Care’s simply better principles. Professionally represents the vision and values of MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job: 

• Schedule patients accurately and in a timely manner.
• Obtain patient information for hospital admission/registration office.
• Explains the prep requirements accurately to the patient or office staff.
• Provides excellent customer service using “Simply Better” and AIDET principles.
• Ability to understand insurance requirements and ask for authorization numbers when required.
• Ability to answer calls timely, and in a professional manner.
• Verify physician suspension and privilege lists.
• Maintain effective patient flow and complete the scheduling process.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective working relations with coworkers, office staff and hospital staff members.
• Ability to be at work and be on time.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
• Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications:

Experience
• One year’s experience in ancillary scheduling or Physician office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or Radiology procedures preferred.
• Proficient in computer functions, data entry and windows platform required.

Education
• Medical terminology course preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
