HIRING: Lead Night School Cleaner
Saddle River Day School — Saddle River, NJ
Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: depending on experience
Reports to: Facilities Director
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, hard-working Lead Night Cleaner to keep our school campus clean and safe. You will lead a small evening team and ensure our classrooms and facilities are perfect for students and staff every morning.
What You Will Do
- Guide the Team: Assign daily cleaning tasks/setups/breakdowns to the night team and check their work.
- Clean and Sanitize: Disinfect high-touch areas, clean bathrooms, sweep, mop, empty trash and vacuum floors.
- Manage Supplies: Keep track of cleaning products and let facilities director know when supplies run low.
- Secure the Campus: Lock doors & close windows at the end of each shift.
- Equipment Use: Safely operate commercial cleaning tools including, but not limited to, floor buffers and vacuums.
- Communication: Inform facilities director of any issues with employees, maintenance of buildings, security issues, etc.
- Ad-hoc duties: Be available for events throughout the year, such as graduation, homecoming, snow removal, etc.
What You Need
- Experience: 3-5 years of commercial cleaning or janitorial experience (school or office setting preferred). At least 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role is a big plus.
- Leadership: Ability to lead a team and keep them motivated.
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliability: A positive attitude, attention to detail, on time and dependable transportation.
