Location: Ft. Worth, TX
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 4:00 pm
What You Will Do
- Manage and lead a team of drivers and hourly associates in a fast-paced dispatch team environment
- Daily execution of the operating plan, equipment utilization, safety, hours of service, and fuel efficiency
- Use and ensure WMS, TruckMate, and PeopleNet systems are updated accurately and promptly
- Resolve customer service, equipment, driver, and warehouse issues
- Assists the Operations Manager with developing, managing, and controlling the warehouse and transportation operations
- Administrative functions such as billing, invoicing, cost control management, and driver pay
- Ensure exceptional customer service by meeting KPI’s (efficiency of drivers and equipment, DOT HOS, customer delivery requirements, etc.)
- Lead and maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment
- Meet or exceed SCLS corporate safety goals as well as DOT regulations
- Effectively communicate goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to associates
- Coach, train, and mentor associates, allowing them the opportunity to grow and develop
- Conduct annual performance reviews
- 2-3 years leading and supervising drivers in a truckload, LTL, or parcel environment preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to build credible relationships with drivers and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Ability to evaluate alternatives to make the best overall value decisions, considering cost, customer expectations, driver needs, and other factors
- Demonstrated analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong computer skills
- Ability to function in a high-stress environment and deal with a variety of issues in various situations
- Solid judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to learn and become an accomplished user in the transportation management and other systems
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a professional manner
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Lean Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement training and experience
- Supply chain/logistics experience is a plus, but not required
