Sacred Heart School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and nurturing K–5 Elementary Teacher to join our committed faculty. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging, and student-centered classroom that fosters a lifelong love of learning while supporting the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development of elementary-aged students. This teacher will build strong foundational skills across core subject areas and integrate Catholic values throughout daily instruction and classroom life.
As a teacher in the Diocese of San Bernardino, you serve as both an educator and a faith-filled role model demonstrating integrity, compassion, and a commitment to educating the whole child in a Christ-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Diocesan and California state standards.
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
- Teach core academic subjects including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, learning styles, and abilities of K–5 students.
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Establish and maintain clear classroom routines and positive behavior supports that promote student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievement, and behavior.
- Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and school staff to support curriculum planning and school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and faith formation activities.
- Integrate Catholic values and Gospel teachings into daily lessons and classroom culture.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire elementary-aged students.
- Solid understanding of elementary content areas and effective instructional strategies.
- Ability to design and adapt lessons to meet a range of learning styles and developmental needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of faith-based schooling.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- California teaching credential preferred; candidates enrolled in a credential program may be considered with a clear plan for completion.
- Prior experience teaching in an elementary school setting preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
