Part Time Housekeeper
Sacred Heart Academy is an all-girls Catholic School looking for a qualified candidate to fill immediate part time position in our Facilities department. The SHA Housekeeper supports the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the high school during instructional hours. This role focuses on maintaining common areas, responding to immediate needs, and ensuring a clean environment for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, offices, and common areas during the school day
- Monitor and clean restrooms; restock paper products and soap as needed
- Perform spot cleaning of spills, trash, fingerprints, and high-traffic areas
- Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the shift
- Assist with cafeteria or lunch-area cleanup as needed
- Respond promptly to custodial requests from staff or administration
- Follow all school safety, sanitation, and security procedures
- Interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors
Qualifications
- Prior custodial, janitorial, or porter experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to follow safety procedures and school policies
- Must pass required background check(s) for school employment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday
Work Environment
- Active school setting with frequent interaction with students and staff
- Indoor work with occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, some occasional evenings/weekends
