Position Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
Schedule: Full-Time Available – AM/Swing mixed schedule, and NOC
Compensation: $20 – $23 per hour (depending on experience)
Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a key role in supporting the safety, structure, and overall therapeutic environment of clients receiving care in a detox and residential treatment setting. The BHT works closely with the clinical and medical teams to monitor clients, assist with daily routines, and ensure a secure, recovery-focused atmosphere during all phases of treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor clients through regular rounds and maintain awareness of their behavior, safety, and needs
- Conduct and document room checks, client observations, and shift reports accurately and on time
- Support clients with daily activities, including hygiene, mealtimes, and transitions between groups
- Assist with new client admissions, orientations, and discharges
- Escort clients to appointments or off-site programming when needed
- Respond to crisis situations and escalate concerns to clinical/medical staff appropriately
- Maintain a clean, orderly facility environment and report any safety or maintenance concerns
- Enforce facility rules and boundaries while maintaining a professional and supportive approach
- Support group activities, meal times, and community responsibilities as directed
- Work collaboratively with the treatment team to provide consistent, compassionate care
Shifts Available:
- AM Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Swing Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- NOC (Overnight) Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a behavioral health, detox, or residential treatment setting preferred
- RADT certification or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid certification required
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress or crisis situations
- Familiarity with EMRs (e.g., Kipu) is a plus
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
