Position Overview
The Facility Assistant's job is to keep building and grounds clean and safe. The Facility Assistant is in direct contact and supports special event hosts during rental periods and is tasked with ensuring proper use of the facility by the host. The Facility Assistant reports to the Building Manger. This position is part time and is scheduled as needed, based on rentals and maintenance needs. The Facility Assistant is a semi-skilled employee who works directly with the public, other staff and event hosts. the Facility Assistant will occasionally clean the facility, using soaps, chemicals, waxes and the operation of various machines.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain the Center and grounds in terms of cleanliness and light repair/maintenance.
Set up/Strike of tables & chairs as diagrammed for rental clients and internal events.
Assure the proper operation of the dishwasher and as directed operate the machine during rental events
During rentals, ensure property is being used according to rental agreements and policies.
Provide information concerning rental policies to prospective clients.
Act as initial contact for issues arising during rentals.
Non-essential Job Functions
Maintain a clean personal appearance.
Positive demeanor & attitude with public and clients.
Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs. unaided.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Work a flexible schedule, with overtime and weekends and late nights as needed.
Be in good physical condition to perform job duties
Other Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of cleaning detergents and solutions, including proper application and impact of use.
Ability to identify areas of needed repair & safety issues, and communicates them to the Building Manager.
Follow checklists for scheduled duties, closing and opening procedures.
Pay range: $18 - $20 per hour
