Role Description The Refrigeration Technician is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sacramento, CA, with some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and scheduling coordination. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration and industrial HVAC systems, performing diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. The technician will conduct preventive maintenance, verify system performance, and ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Additional duties include maintaining accurate service records, communicating clearly with customers about findings and recommendations, coordinating with suppliers for parts, and supporting teammates on complex projects. This role requires traveling to client sites within the region and occasionally responding to urgent service requests.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Preventive Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, refrigeration, and HVAC-related issues.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Electricity, including reading wiring diagrams, safe handling of electrical components, and basic controls.
- Candidates should possess practical HVAC skills, including installation, inspection, and servicing of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
- Relevant additional qualifications include familiarity with commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, EPA Section 608 certification, and adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and hand/power tools safely, read technical manuals, and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong customer service skills, clear communication, reliable time management, and capability to work independently and as part of a field team.
