Overview
The Lead Residential Plumber will be responsible for the installation and repair of residential and commercial plumbing systems, including water, gas, drain, and sewer lines.
This role requires the ability to independently diagnose issues, perform new construction installs, remodel installs, leak repairs, connect various appliances, interpret blueprints, and ensure all work strictly complies with California plumbing codes and safety standards. The plumber may work independently or supervise junior staff/helpers.
Core Responsibilities
- Installation & Maintenance: Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure-test piping, fittings, and fixtures for water, gas, drainage, and heating systems.
- System Diagnostics: Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve common issues such as leaks, clogs, low water pressure, and appliance malfunctions (e.g., water heaters, dishwashers).
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all California building codes, plumbing regulations, and established safety protocols.
- Technical Expertise: Confidently work with water, waste and gas systems within new residential and remodel environments.
- Planning: Accurately interpret plans and specifications (blueprints) to determine the layout and specific installation requirements.
- Logistics: Manage materials, accurately estimate time and material costs, and maintain detailed, accurate records for all service calls.
- Client Interaction: Complete work orders thoroughly, inspect finished jobs for quality and cleanliness, and professionally address all customer needs and concerns.
Qualifications
Required
- Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program.
- Current and valid California Journeyman Plumber Certificate.
- Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools used for pipe fitting, cutting, bending, and system assembly.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and provide guidance or oversight to junior team members as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or mechanical spaces.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Ability to successfully pass required background checks and drug screening.
- Able to work in the field and evenutally manage crew
Preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, including experience resolving complex plumbing issues.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and code compliance.
- Clear and professional communication skills, including the ability to document work accurately.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
