Looking for a highly motivated, self-starter who thinks quick on their feet! Provides exceptional customer service to all patients and doctors. Must be a team player! We are a busy Orthopedic office located in midtown Sacramento. We are looking for an energetic multi-tasking go to person to help their thriving practice!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and vendors in a warm and professional manner.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and medical history accurately.
- Coordinate patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a seamless process.
- Answer phone calls, texts, and emails. Address inquiries, and provide accurate information or direct calls as needed.
- Maintain patient records and update with new information.
- Obtain authorizations and schedule tests: MRI, CT, bonescan, labs, EMG/NCS, etc.
- Assist with billing and payment processing, including co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure smooth patient flow and address any scheduling conflicts.
- Keep the reception area organized and tidy.
- Manage office supplies and inventory related to the reception area.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, especially in the field of orthopedics, is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Adobe. EPIC knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their needs.
- Knowledge of insurance procedures and billing processes is advantageous.
