About the Role:
Sacramento Montessori is looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Preschool Floater to join our passionate team in Sacramento, CA! In this dynamic role, you'll have the unique opportunity to support multiple classrooms, connect with a variety of young learners, and play a vital part in nurturing every child's natural curiosity and love of learning.
Responsibilities:
- Float between preschool classrooms to provide coverage and support as needed throughout the school day
- Assist lead teachers in implementing Montessori-based curriculum and daily activities
- Supervise and engage children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and transitions
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and prepared learning environment consistent with Montessori philosophy
- Support individual children's social, emotional, and developmental needs
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization of Montessori materials
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding child progress and daily observations
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development preferred
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or classroom setting
- Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and methods is a plus
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively across multiple classroom environments
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Must pass background check and meet California Title 22 licensing requirements
