ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSResponsible for creating and setting up new patient accounts, guiding new patients through the initial paperwork and ensuring all forms are completed accurately.Assist with routing calls to correct personnel as needed.Verifying insurance information, securing and filing medical records, and preparing for the patient's first visit.Relays necessary messages to staffVerifies referral and/or authorizationsActs in a courteous manner and maintains composure when dealing with angry or irritated patientsMaintains database, fax and scan patient history and update patient account informationOther duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEMinimum Education (or substitute experience) required:High School degree or GEDMinimum Experience required:One-year medical scheduling experience, preferably in a medical office setting.Medical Assistant experience a plusSkills required:Bilingual English/Spanish preferredEPIC knowledge preferredCustomer Service focusedProblem solving/Critical thinkingClear written and spoken communicationTime managementGood judgment and decision makingComputer competency
