Job Summary
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Otolaryngology (ENT) experience to join our clinic’s virtual care team. In this fully remote role, you will manage patient phone triage, perform high-level pre-charting within Epic, and streamline clinical workflows before patients step into the office. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and deep familiarity with ENT conditions, treatments, and Epic navigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Epic Pre-Charting: Review, organize, and update patient medical records in Epic prior to visits, ensuring chief complaints, external records, history, and labs are accurately documented.
- Remote Triage: Evaluate patient calls regarding ENT symptoms (e.g., sinusitis, hearing loss, epistaxis, post-op tonsillectomy concerns) using telephone triage protocols.
- Symptom Assessment: Apply clinical knowledge to determine urgency, route critical issues to providers through Epic In Basket messaging, or schedule appointments.
- Care Coordination: Deliver education to patients on post-operative care, medication management, and symptom management.
- Administrative Support: Manage prescription refills, prior authorizations, and test result distribution under provider guidance within Epic.
Qualifications & Skills
- License: Active, unencumbered Arkansas LPN license (or multi-state Compact license).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical LPN experience, with at least 1 year specifically in an ENT / Otolaryngology environment.
- Epic Proficiency: Highly proficient in Epic EMR (experience with Epic in Basket workflows and documentation is strongly preferred).
- Triage Expertise: Proven experience in telephone triage and clinical protocol application.
