Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

Under supervision of Language, Speech, and Hearing Therapists (LSHT), completes a variety of tasks including activities designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication; works with students who have identified speech and language disorders as well as other disabilities; performs related duties as assigned. SCOE is one of 58 county offices of education in the State of California and plays a vital role in providing technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, legal and financial advice, and oversight to school districts within Sacramento County.
