What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy District Attorney position at Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office?
The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office is recruiting licensed attorneys for various units in the office. Deputy District Attorneys represent the People of the State of California in a variety of criminal cases before the Sacramento Superior Court.
Attorneys are responsible for the review of cases, the research of relevant laws and statutes pertaining to the case, drafting and litigating motions, and for handling all aspects of criminal proceedings such as arraignment, preliminary hearings, jury trial, and sentencing. Attorneys will interact and work closely with law enforcement.
This is a full-time position. Qualified applicants must have at least five years of criminal law (litigation/trial) experience, knowledge of rules of evidence, advocacy skills, and a desire to be part of a team. Training is available. Pre-employment drug screen and background investigation are required to begin employment.
