The Training and Organizational Development Specialist performs a wide variety of duties involving the design, instruction, and coordination of employee, supervisory, management, and leadership development training programs for the District. This class series is also involved in the Organizational Development (OD) and implementation of the Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) Career Development Program. They may deal with delicate and sensitive issues, requiring confidentiality. Many issues that a person in this position may face require knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures. Personnel-related experience is highly encouraged. Incumbents are responsible for organizing, coordinating, and presenting or facilitating training for a major segment of an employee training and development program. This position receives general supervision from a higher-level professional or management position and may provide direction or instruction to lower-level training positions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either: 1. Possession of a two-year degree or successful completion of 60 college units from an accredited college or university with coursework in communications, business administration, psychology, adult education, career development, or a closely related field.
AND
Two years of professional level experience in employee training and development, career development, or in human resources department performing training related duties.
Or: 2. A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with major coursework in communications, business administration, psychology, adult education, career development, or a closely related field.
