Administrative Assistant (Part-Time), Saco River Corridor Commission
24 hours/week
Location: 81 Maple St., Cornish, ME

The Saco River Corridor Commission seeks a 24-hour-per-week Administrative Assistant to start in August or early September 2026. The Administrative Assistant will perform essential office tasks including drafting and editing documents; filing and scanning; preparing presentation materials and mailings; answering phones, and other tasks as required. Applicants will be expected to learn, understand, and communicate the standards of the Saco River Corridor Act, and will work closely with the Executive Director and Administrative Coordinator. Strong writing skills and reading/listening comprehension are essential. Attention to detail, and the desire to work as part of an efficient, coordinated team are also key to the position. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Excel are expected. The SRCC welcomes applicants with experience in various administrative roles but any experience with code enforcement, legal, regulatory, or academic work is a bonus. The position is best suited to a reliable individual who takes pride in thorough, high-quality work.

The position has a starting rate of $20-21/hour depending on qualifications. Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays are prorated to the number of hours worked (60% of full-time benefits). About the Saco River Corridor Commission

The SRCC is a quasi-independent state agency formed by the Saco River Corridor Act of 1973. We are committed to protecting public health, safety, and quality of life in the State of Maine through the regulation of land and water uses, protection and conservation of the region’s unique and exceptional natural resources, and through the prevention of impacts caused by incompatible development. The Commission is a group of 20-40 volunteers appointed to represent each of the towns along the Corridor, and, as a group, they enforce the provisions of the Saco River Corridor Act and oversee all activities of the SRCC organization. The staff of the SRCC is vital to ensuring the organization’s work is effective, timely, and thorough, enabling the Commission to uphold its mission and statutory responsibilities.
