Position Summary
Sachs Peanuts is seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Maintenance & Safety Coordinator to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and executing facility maintenance activities, managing the preventive maintenance program, and helping ensure equipment, building systems, and production support areas remain operational and well maintained.
In addition to maintenance responsibilities, this role coordinates workplace safety initiatives, supports OSHA compliance efforts, assists with food safety and regulatory programs, and helps maintain audit readiness. The Maintenance & Safety Coordinator serves as a key resource for production, quality, and operations teams by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, strengthen workplace safety, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the facility Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program.
- Create, assign, and track maintenance work orders to completion.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on facility equipment and building systems as needed.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities with outside contractors and service providers.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify opportunities to reduce downtime.
- Maintain maintenance records, documentation, and service histories.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
- Ensure maintenance activities support efficient production operations.
Safety
- Coordinate and maintain the company's workplace safety program.
- Conduct routine facility safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Assist with OSHA compliance and maintain required safety documentation.
- Coordinate employee safety training and orientation programs.
- Investigate workplace incidents and near misses and assist with corrective actions.
- Monitor corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
- Promote safe work practices throughout the facility.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Support SQF, GMP, HACCP, and other food safety programs.
- Assist with audit preparation and corrective action follow-up.
- Participate in internal inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help ensure the facility remains audit-ready at all times.
Administrative
- Maintain maintenance, safety, and compliance records.
- Prepare reports and communicate maintenance and safety updates to leadership.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Operations to prioritize maintenance activities.
- Assist with vendor communications and purchasing of maintenance supplies as needed.
- Participate in meetings related to operations, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial maintenance, facility maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Experience coordinating workplace safety programs or OSHA compliance is preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and work order management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or food production experience.
- Knowledge of SQF, GMP, HACCP, or other food safety standards.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Experience coordinating contractors and vendors.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently walk throughout the production facility.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in varying plant conditions.
- Ability to work safely around production equipment.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
