JOB TITLE: Recreation Worker (Part-time) DEPARTMENT: Health
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt CATEGORY: Essential
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet members and guests and direct them to appropriate area
- Answer phones and handle facility information requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of front desk and surrounding areas
- Interact with members and guests
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and resourcefulness when handling problems that may occur.
- Report complaints and enforce rules with guests
- Be able to multi-task during high traffic operating hours
- Sell merchandise, memberships
- Communicate effectively with staff, members and guests
- Be a team player
- Maintain confidentiality
- Provide comfortable and inviting experience for members and guests
- Willing to work various hours including weekends, and special events
- Provide tours of the facility as requested
- Gym supervision
- Fitness equipment orientations
- Set up/tear down activities as determined Recreation Coordinator
- Assist with various programmatic activities
- Assist with Youth Program operations including but not limited to direct supervision of youth, assisting with various programming, and being a positive role model
- Assist with drop-in daycare as assigned by supervisor
- Ongoing cleaning of facility and wiping down equipment
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Prefer two years of work experience with one year in customer service
- Customer service, organizational, and time management skills
- Must respect Meskwaki cultural beliefs.
- Must be knowledgeable and proficient in PC word processing, Excel spreadsheet, Internet and email
- Prefer cash handling experience
- Must be able to meet and communicate with the public
- Must submit to and successfully complete background investigation.
SUPERVISION:
- Supervised by the Recreation Coordinator
SALARY LEVEL:
- Annual Salary Range: $16.66 hourly
