Scope Of Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Lead and Supervisor, the Material Handler will follow directions and operate in an efficient, clean, safe and cost-effective manner in order to achieve the goals and key performance metrics in line with the organization’s objectives.
Essential Duties
- Determines the sequence of operation by reading the shop drawings, specifications (if supplied) and all work orders.
- Cuts, lays out, punches, bends, drills or stamps materials as detailed on the shop drawings with minimal operator defects.
- Changes or replaces tooling and/or consumables on the machines as needed.
- Uses proper setting technique of the machines to avoid damage to the machines.
- Accurately reads and understand a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
- Follows assigned work instructions to prepare items to be processed.
- Logs in & out of the Epicor computer system to report run time and quantities.
- Loads programs related to nesting summaries into the machines.
- Performs simple maintenance diagnosis of machines.
- Crane, Hoist, Gantries Operations and Safety including Load Capacity and Pre-Operational Checklist Forklift Certification on 5k or 6k forlklift and combi lifts.
- Keeps assigned work area clean and organized at all times & assists with keeping other work areas clean & organized.
- Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization and cleanliness in all areas of operation.
- Contributes to team effort be communicating & working well with others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing and speaking English
- Knowledge of general safety guidelines and Sabre’s quality expectations and application in the work place
- Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work

- Ability to plan, organize, pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be able to understand basic English
- Experience using forklifts highly preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak in English highly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
- Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Exposure to extreme cold and heat. Temperatures can range below 32 degrees to above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour with other environmental conditions, such as humidity and wind.
- Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of quality, facilities or structures is required. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Effectively and safely utilizes ladders, manlifts, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc. Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized
- Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Bend legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Bend the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Move about on hands and knees or hands and feet
- Stand for particularly sustained periods of time
- Use upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion
- Raise objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position
- Pick, pinch or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
- Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
- Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces
- Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound
- There may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level or areas that may require company-provided hearing protection
- The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
- Ability to pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- The worker may be required to function in narrow aisles or passageways
