Scope Of Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, the Contracts Specialist will assist in the company’s commercial contracting strategy across Sabre’s business lines and will help with the review, negotiation and management of commercial agreements to ensure that contracts comply with company policies but also mitigate risk, enable business growth, and protect Sabre’s interests. The position requires knowledge of commercial manufacturing and construction contracts—including EPC agreements, master service/purchasing agreements, NDAs, and purchase order terms and conditions. The Contracts Specialist should possess an understanding of key contractual provisions such as indemnity, insurance, limitations of liability, consequential damages, warranty, risk of loss, delivery and acceptance, force majeure, and payment terms with the ability and willingness to further develop knowledge and expertise in these areas through training and on-the-job experience. This role works closely with Legal, Sales, and Operations teams and contributes to proposal and deal structuring initiatives. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties

  • Act as a contracts resource, providing day-to-day contract support to manufacturing and construction operations.
  • Review and revise a wide range of complex commercial contracts, including customer, vendor, supplier, logistics, and service contracts with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risk, providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Participate in high-stakes negotiations with customers, suppliers, and partners, balancing commercial objectives with risk management priorities.
  • Maintain contract standards, templates, tracking systems and governance processes to help ensure consistency, organization and compliance across the entire company.
  • Partner with Legal, Sales, and Operations to advise on deal structuring, risk allocation, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor, track and support enforcement of contract performance, renewals, key obligations, deadlines and contract close-outs.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficient and effective contracting processes.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry standards, and best practices, including the UCC.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, business administration, engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Experience

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or construction companies with responsibility for high-value or complex contracts.
  • 3-5 years of experience in contract administration, procurement, legal support, project coordination, construction administration, or commercial operations preferred.
  • Proven track record negotiating and managing contracts that mitigate risk while enabling business growth.
  • Experience with complex commercial manufacturing or construction deals, including project-based agreements or multi-party contracts.
  • Strong understanding of laws and regulations impacting manufacturing or construction contracting.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to identify potential contractual, operational, or commercial risks and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Ability to read, understand, and summarize contractual language and commercial terms.
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all contract documentation and related communications.
  • Proactive and self-directed, able to independently manage complex contract matters from start to finish.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including clarity, grammar, and precision in contract language.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information with discretion.
  • Strong follow-up and tracking skills to help ensure contractual obligations, approvals, and deadlines are monitored and addressed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint, with aptitude for learning new contract management or database tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including formatting, document automation, and track changes for complex contracts.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop within a commercial contract and risk management environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
