TITLE: Instructional Resource Aide – Intermediate
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate – information located on the TEA web site: (https://tea.texas.gov/Texas_Educators/Certification/Initial_Certification/Becoming_an_Educational_Aide_in_Texas/), ability to understand and respond to the needs of children with academic and behavior challenges, use oral and written English fluently, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, assist in the implementation of classroom and instruction programs, work under general supervision of principal, immediate direction of certified teacher, and collaboration with special education support staff.
SUPERVISOR: Principal/teacher to whom assigned (special education support staff)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role of the instructional aide involves providing assistance to the teacher as the instructional program is implemented. The instructional aide:
1.Assists in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
2.Supervises individuals and small groups as learning activities are implemented
3.Operates equipment (classroom technology) utilized in instruction
4.Assists with routine record keeping and clean-up tasks
5.Supervises students during activities outside the classroom
6.Helps maintain a neat and orderly classroom
7.Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
8.Performs other duties and functions as assigned by the teacher and/or principal.
SALARY: Dependent on years of experience as per salary schedule for Sabine ISD
