ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION
Principal for Special Education Adaptive Behavior Unit and DAEP
Gregg County Special Education Shared Service Arrangement is currently seeking applicants for the FULL-TIME position of Principal of the DAEP and the Adaptive Behavior Classroom for the 2026-2027 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree, administrator’s certificate, special education certification
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.To function under the direct supervision of the Director of Special Education
2.To provide support and direction in developing, maintaining, and revising curriculum based on systematic review and analysis of needs
3.To adhere to legal and ethical requirements of special education
4.To plan and facilitate appropriate instruction for students with behavioral disabilities and manage the teaching/learning environment
5.To collaborate effectively in IEP Team meetings and in communication with parents
6.Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution with administrators, parents, teachers, staff and/or the community
7.Effectively uses the districts’ appraisal system
8.Ensures that federal and state laws and regulations concerning the education of students who are assigned to a DAEP are followed
9.Defines program and fiscal needs in the budget development process
10.To perform all duties as otherwise directed by supervisors
SALARY: As determined by the Management Board of Gregg County Special Education SSA
