SABG is hiring a full-time MD 3 Exercise Support Analyst/SME to support Mission Delta 3 (MD 3) S7 Directorate as a contract staff member addressing all exercise/wargame planning requirements to include Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs), apprising leadership of exercise descriptions, planning efforts, out briefs, and publishing of after-action reports to drive future exercise/wargame events. The S7 is responsible for leading, facilitating, and conducting exercise planning, wargame development and execution, as well as conference attendance pertaining to MD 3 led exercises and the Service Exercise Plan (SEP).

Travel: Up to 4 TDYs and 4-8 conferences may be required per year; Frequent travel required to support 50 exercises and training events annually.

  • Assist MD 3 in facilitating and conducting exercise planning, wargame development and execution, as well as conference attendance pertaining to MD 3 led exercises and the Service Exercise Plan (SEP)
  • Coordinate with MD 3 units to develop Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs) for each exercise event
  • Attend all planning conferences pertaining to exercises and war games and provide MD 3 inputs
  • Coordinate exercise requirements with other organizations and stakeholders to determine availability of resources for MD 3 exercises and wargames
  • Attend exercises as needed and directed (supporting 50 exercises and training events annually)
  • Provide exercise briefings to MD 3 leadership pre and post execution
  • Support exercise execution activities and ensure MD 3 objectives are met during exercise events
  • Coordinate with exercise participants and external organizations during exercise planning and execution phases
  • Prepare, review, and publish exercise After Action Reports (AAR)
  • Review exercise reports prior to public release and ensure they are uploaded in the Joint Integrated Lessons Learned System (JLLIS)
  • Serve as the lead for all MD 3 exercise After Action Reports by reviewing the reports prior to public release
  • Capture and document lessons learned from exercises to drive future exercise/wargame events and improvements
  • Develop responses to formal tasks as requested (point papers, presentation material, comments, and formal letters for Government signature)
  • Review, analyze, and provide recommended changes and additions to documents accomplished by other organizations
  • Prepare/deliver briefings/talking papers related to exercise planning and execution
  • Provide trip report summaries and meeting minutes with 3-business day turn-around time for exercise-related travel and conferences
  • Interface with multiple organizations and stakeholders to coordinate exercise support and resource availability
  • Integrate and coordinate responses to tasks across all organizations involved, both internal and external to HQ USSF, HQ SpOC, and MD 3
  • Support integration events and coordinate with Air Staff and Space Force organizations for exercise planning
  • Coordinate with DoD, US Allies, government agencies, higher headquarters, and other Space Force Deltas for exercise support

SUPERVISION: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Capable of comprehending personnel space management and interior design to support stakeholder requirements. Has specialized relevant knowledge and works as a member of the team and assists with solving complex problems. Advanced level working knowledge, skills, and abilities using Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree desired (BA/BS preferred in relevant field such as military studies, operations research, systems engineering, or related discipline) and Exercise Planning experience including 6 years working with any military HQ, Delta, Wing, or Squadron Staff operating in support of current and future EW mission areas
  • Required Certifications: DoD Antiterrorism (AT) Level I training (must be completed within 30 calendar days after start date); DoD Information Assurance Awareness (IAA) Cyber Awareness Challenge training; Annual and event-driven/mission specific OPSEC training
  • Experience working in classified (SAP/SAR) space environment
  • Experience operating or supporting (electromagnetic warfare, Joint operations planner, EW Intelligence, management, oversight, or operations) any EW systems in military, commercial/civil, or academia
  • Joint operations planning experience developing/coordinating tasking orders, concept of operations, special instructions, deployment orders, execution orders, etc.
  • Experience advising/supporting acquisition/integration of future electromagnetic warfare weapon systems, either upgrades or next generation capabilities
  • Space Electromagnetic Warfare (SEW) weapons systems & operations experience
  • Experience with Military DOTMLPF-P analysis and/or staffing process knowledge
  • Experience in military exercise planning, execution, and evaluation processes
  • Knowledge of exercise development methodologies including scenario development, objective setting, and performance measurement
  • Experience with After Action Report (AAR) development and lessons learned processes
  • Familiarity with Joint Integrated Lessons Learned System (JLLIS) or similar systems
  • Understanding of Service Exercise Plans (SEP) and military training event coordination
  • Experience coordinating with multiple military services and joint organizations for exercise support

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
