The Field Service Project Manager is responsible for leading all safety, planning, execution, financial, and administrative functions for large-scale electrical field service projects. This role manages the full project lifecycle—from order handoff and kickoff through testing, commissioning, and closeout—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between customers, sales, engineering, operations, subcontractors, and internal support teams, and is ultimately accountable for project performance, margin, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Pre-Execution
- Coordinate pre-bid job walks, site visits, and client meetings.
- Review RFQs, contracts, and project documentation.
- Define and validate project scope, deliverables, risks, and resource needs.
- Support estimating and operations in manpower and subcontractor planning.
- Ensure clean order entry and smooth transition from sales to operations.
- Schedule and lead project kickoff meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, and milestone matrices.
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Manage projects from order receipt through closeout.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules.
- Monitor critical path, delays, and recovery plans.
- Ensure all materials and equipment are delivered on time.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and documentation submittals.
- Track project performance, KPIs, and progress metrics.
- Maintain complete project records in Saber’s project management systems.
- Provide technical support and planning assistance to field teams.
- Facilitate project meetings and stakeholder reviews.
- Safety, Quality, & Compliance
- Enforce Saber’s safety policies, procedures, and standards at all times.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.
- Verify adherence to engineering and testing requirements.
- Lead incident prevention, risk mitigation, and corrective actions.
- Contract, Financial, & Risk Management
- Interpret and manage contracts, MSAs, and commercial terms.
- Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and claims.
- Track budgets, costs, and margins on every project.
- Forecast project revenue, costs, and profitability.
- Partner with finance on billing, forecasting, and closeout.
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations as needed.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers and partners.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships.
- Maintain clear project communication plans.
- Provide regular status reports and executive updates.
- Interface with client representatives regarding progress and challenges.
- Support business development and repeat-client initiatives.
- Leadership & Development
- Mentor job leads, technicians, and junior project staff.
- Support technical training and field development.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practices.
- Contribute to standardized project management processes.
- Support cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Engineering, and Operations.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience in electrical, industrial, utility, or EPC environments.
- Experience managing field-based electrical or power system projects.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and project management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- PMP certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with:
- Substations, transmission, or high-voltage systems
- Testing and maintenance services
- Data center or industrial power projects
- Engineered power products
- Experience in oil & gas, industrial, or construction markets.
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and relationship management
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-risk projects
- Advanced budgeting, scheduling, and cost control skills
