Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual for our Critical Power Service Technician opening in Rosharon, TX.
Position Summary:
The Critical Power Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of power systems critical to data centers, healthcare facilities, telecommunication hubs, and other operations requiring uninterrupted power supply. This role focuses on ensuring reliability and efficiency across UPS systems, batteries, generators, and associated power infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the timely maintenance and repairs of all critical power equipment to ensure full operability 24/7.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and conducting system upgrades and replacements.
- Performs commissioning-focused design reviews, prepares commissioning test procedures and reports, coordinates and oversees on-site testing.
- Interprets electrical schematics and follows strict safety protocols to prevent outages, minimize downtime, and maintain system stability
- Prioritizes and complete work order requests to Service; oversees each job is performed at a high level of skill and with optimal customer service.
- Regular interactions with customers require clear communication and the ability to explain technical details, address complaints, and resolve problems as they arrise
- Establishes and maintains key business relationships with a diverse network of vendors around the region.
- Perform scheduled training courses with customers and service technicians.
- Leads, trains, and guides direct reports and ensures the appropriate resources are available to perform job tasks.
- Assesses current Facility Services processes and programs and recommends solutions to improve operability.
- Leads the development of Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and Scopes of Work (SOW).
- Perform basic operation training with customers in a classroom setting.
- When not involved in scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up and/or field modification, UPS Technicians will occasionally train at the company's main office testing equipment or rebuilding older systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of Power Systems, Battery Technologies, and / or Electronic Experience (coursework and internship experience apply).
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
- Electrical Technology certificate from an accredited program is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read schematic drawings and knowledge of troubleshooting, test, and repair techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems, problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond quickly in high-stakes situations to ensure continuous power and operational reliability.
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted State Driver's license.
- Must have the ability and willingness to undergo and pass customer entrance requirements, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.
- Willing to work weekends.
- Willing to travel.
