Position Overview:
The Senior Distribution Accountant/Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, inventory controls, and compliance with internal and external requirements. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to drive financial insights, optimize processes, and support strategic decision-making across the distribution network.
This is an on-site position at our Cleveland, Ohio office with occasional travel to distribution centers and corporate locations and industry functions.
This position is not with Saber Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting activities related to distribution centers, including inventory valuation, COGS, fright expenses, and warehouse operating costs.
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and audit requirements.
Perform detailed variance analysis on distribution costs.
Multi-jurisdiction sales tax oversight and reporting.
Monitor inventory accounting processes, including cycle counts, physical inventories, shrink analysis, and reconciliation.
Develop and maintain cost allocation models for transportation, warehousing, handling, and overhead expenses.
Collaborate with distribution leadership to improve internal controls across inventory management and distribution processes.
Administer and process payroll
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Must have 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain
Must possess a strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial controls
Must possess advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems
Must possess excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
Experience in multi-site distribution environments preferred
Experience leading and managing a team including hire/fire responsibility
Experience with process development and automation
Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred
Experience with Epicor/Profit 21(P21) Software preferred
Shifts and Wages:
Full-Time Opportunity Available
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 annually, Based on Experience
