Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and administering medications
- Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and maintaining sanitary conditions
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for examinations or treatments
- Support diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and laboratory sample collection and processing
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, vital signs, and medical histories using veterinary terminology
- Provide pet care services such as grooming, feeding, and behavioral training for dogs and other companion animals
- Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during surgical preparations and wound management
- Support equine care activities including handling, feeding, and basic health assessments when needed
- Includes doody duty.
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy
- Experience with dog handling, pet grooming, and pet care routines
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and veterinary critical care practices
- Ability to perform animal restraint effectively during examinations or procedures
- Basic understanding of X-ray operation and interpretation is a plus
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with veterinary staff and pet owners
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments involving lifting, standing, and moving animals for extended periods
