JOB SUMMARY
Located in the heart of Scottsdale, Saba Plastic Surgery is a new, state-of-the-art clinic and surgery center providing high quality facial aesthetic care.
Saba Plastic Surgery is seeking an energetic and self-motivated part time and/or per diem certified surgical technologist (CST) to join our team. The surgical technician performs a variety of duties to ensure there is a seamless surgical flow with adequate availability of equipment and supplies needed for procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Completion of surgical technology training from an accredited program
• Active surgical technologist certification (CST)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum one (1) year of CST experience, STRONGLY PREFERRED
• Plastic surgery experience, preferred
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assembles instruments and supplies for scheduled cases according to requirements of procedures and physician’s preference cards
• Assists the surgeon during cases, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of procedures and surgeon’s preferences
• Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating room practices
• Assists with operating room setup, turnover, and cleaning for optimal efficiency and to maintain a sterile environment
• Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and equipment
• Maintains sterile processing quality control standards and recordkeeping
• Ensures adequate inventory of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to avoid delays in patient care
• Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeon’s preference cards
• Performs duties in compliance with established standards of care, Practice guidelines, and other regulatory entities
• Other duties as assigned or required
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment
• Works well with little supervision, showing initiative, dependability, and punctuality
• Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, adapting to changing demands, and coordinating clinical care
• Provides input and demonstrates cost containment techniques for perioperative equipment and supplies
• Demonstrates professionalism, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cohesively with colleagues
