Accounting Specialist, AR/AP

Job Description: Saab, Inc. is currently seeking an individual who is driven to learn and highly motivated, for the role of Accounting Specialist – Accounts Payable, serving as an integral part of the Corporate Finance team. This position is a regular, full-time position. The ideal candidate will have basic accounting skills, accounts payable experience, accuracy, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include: Review, match, and voucher all vendor invoices with appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Resolve price/quantity variances to ensure all invoices and purchase orders are properly accounted for. Respond to all vendor inquiries in a timely manner. Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies. Collaborate with other departments, including Supply Chain and Government Compliance, to ensure all matters are handled promptly and in adherence with procedures. Post reclasses to support account/project reconciliation and government compliance. Assist with month-end closing. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. Assist with other projects as needed. Compensation Range: $43,300 - $52,000 The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Skills and Experience: Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred. 1-3 years of experience in an accounting discipline or business environment, government contracting experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Oracle eBusiness Suite or IFS experience preferred but not required. Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Solid written and oral communication skills and strong analytical problem-solving abilities. Sound and consistent business judgment, a good grasp of company priorities, and a sense of urgency. High level of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and the ability to remain flexible to meet internal and external needs. Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen.
