You will be working alongside our System Engineering Team and other Software Engineers as they work toward improving tools that are used within the FAA. We are looking for a Software Engineer with an interest in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Compensation Range: $92,200 - $115,300

- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in computer science, software engineering or related discipline
- 3 years of related experience required
Required Skills:
- Strong Java programming skills
- Relational database experience, preferably PostgreSQL
- Strong LINUX environment skills including command line and scripting tools
- Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills
- Experience with Integrated Development Environments (e.g. Eclipse, IntelliJ)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Abiltiy to travel (<10% domestic and international)
Desired Skills:
- Experience with unit test frameworks (e.g. Junit, GTest, JTest)
- Experience with software design patterns
- Experience using UML
- Experience with automated build systems (e.g. Maven, Bamboo, Gradle)
- Aviation and Defense systems background/domain interest
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Development (Generative AI, LLMs, AI coding assistants, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, and AI MCP servers)
- Experience with Ansible Automation and authoring playbooks and roles for installing, maintaining, or upgrading platforms
