SUMMARY

Assists Intermediate and Senior Designers in development of design for projects including: documenting client’s program requirements, space planning, drawing plans, elevations, 3D views and details, formatting presentations, researching materials, furniture & finish selections. Management of Design Library and setting up vendor presentations and library updates.


RESPONSIBILITIES

(Include the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • Perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, 3D modeling/rendering, presentation packages, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation.
  • Participate in the selection of color palettes and lighting.
  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction.
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts.
  • Develops CAD presentation plans and pricing plans under supervision.
  • Collaborates with other designers, lead designer, job captains, and project managers, as well as external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from college or university or 1-3 years’ relevant experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient AutoCAD, InDesign, Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal graphic communication skills.
  • Experience with researching, selecting and specifying materials and finishes.
  • Understand and solve technical problems.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Thrive in a team environment and work well with others, willing to participate in ideation.
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills.
  • Skilled at evaluating options and generating solutions.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is an Non Exempt Full-Time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday to be discussed with direct supervisor.


TRAVEL

Travel may include attending off site meetings and work sessions in other local SAA Offices. Mileage will be reimbursed at predetermined market rate. Individual must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and have reliable transportation.
