- Encourage all personnel to be safe and healthy
- Able to take direction and follow through on completing tasks within the requested time frame
- Work with General Managers and Supervisors to manage the EHS program within their yards
- Manage and coordinate facility visits to implement consistent presence at all yards within the region
- Conduct Monthly Environmental and Safety audits to ensure compliance or note deficiencies so corrective actions can be put in place
- Assist in reviewing corrective actions to ensure all reports are accurate, completed and closed within a timely manner, giving guidance as needed
- Review Permits to ensure compliance
- Ensure waste collection is within the appropriate time frame and assist in coordinating pick up
- Review records of Stormwater inspections, Waste shipments, Manifest and bill of lading, appliance logs, etc. to ensure compliance
- Manage regulatory visits following Inspection Training protocol
- Support the yards by assisting with Medical Surveillance to ensure the correct employees are tested according to requirements
- Conduct or designate specific EHS training topics for yard personnel, supervisors and managers
- Support the Management Communication Meeting (MCM) in each of their yards
- Conduct new hire safety orientations
- Ensure employees are trained for their specific job function and that the training is properly documented
- Encourage participation in the Safety Incentive Program
- Provide on the spot training/guidance to employees found to be working unsafely
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
- Organize materials in personal office/work area to have more effective use of space
- Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
- Escalate unresolved issues to direct reports
- Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check and credit check
- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language required
- Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
- An understanding of the OSHA regulations well enough to interpret, inspect, and train all company personnel.
- Possess interpersonal skills to gain support of workforce and clientele when conducting business
- Completed course work and Certifications that follows OSHA, Air and Environmental regulations preferred
