What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at SA Recycling?
SA Recycling, an industry leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is looking for Class A Drivers. Our drivers are the face of the Company and safely transport metals for recycling from supplier locations to our processing facilities. We operate semi and straight chassis trucks utilizing dump bodies, flat beds, dry vans, roll-off boxes, lugger boxes and three-sided car trailers.
This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Our drivers run local routes and are home nightly. Overtime and weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities of a Driver
- Responsible for pre and post trip inspections of all tractors and trailers in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Transport and deliver materials from suppliers to SA Recycling facilities as directed by dispatch.
- Secure all cargo for transport using chains, straps, binders, and/or tarps.
- Communicate any safety or equipment issues with management.
- Operate effectively and safely on all staging areas, parking surfaces, and roads.
- Maintain all required logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status.
Qualifications of a Driver
- High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License; with heavy haul, roll-off and end-dump trailer experience.
- Three (3) plus years’ commercial driving experience.
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission.
- Minimum 21 years old.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical, meet all qualifications of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and pass a background check.
- Must be registered in Clearinghouse as required by FMCSR.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
Candidates may not have more than 2 moving violations within the past 2 years for consideration.
