Responsibilities of a Spotter/Yard Jockey
- Responsible for pre and post trip inspections of all tractors and trailers in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Ensure all trailers and containers are moved, parked, stored and secured accordingly within the recycling or storage yards.
- Communicate any safety or equipment issues with management.
- Operate effectively and safely on all staging areas, parking surfaces, and roads.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Observe all safety procedures.
Qualifications of a Spotter/Yard Jockey
- High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Three (3) plus years’ experience of roll-off and/or tractor trailer experience.
- Clear, MVR ,PSP and Clearing House.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
- Must pass DOT Physical/Drug Screen
- Must pass Background Check
Candidates may not have more than 2 moving violations within the past 2 years for consideration.
