Air Quality Manager

SA Recycling is looking for an Air Quality Manager who oversees a team to monitor pollution levels, ensure compliance with EPA and local air quality standards, and develop emission-reduction strategies. This role will manage permitting, analyze data, and implement environmental controls across industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply for air quality permits and modifications
• Ensure Compliance with Permit Conditions
• Attend applicable meetings, regulatory updates, conferences etc.
• Prepare Annual Emissions Reports
• Collaborate with GMs and REHSMs regarding operations, compliance and permitted equipment
• Follow agency updates such as reporting changes or NSR requirements
• Research/approve equipment changes/upgrades (ex. Refrigeration extraction)
• Manage 608/609 Contract Updates Annually
• Provide training to REHSM Monthly, Ensure Complete
• Ensure operation and compliance permitting for various equipment
• Regularly review and update Guidance Documents/WI
• Work with engineers to ensure flow diagrams are updated and accurate
• Perform perimeter air monitoring when applicable
• Ensure maintenance of shredder yard equipment
• Coordinate shredder yard testing (source, flow, etc.)
• Review and update, when necessary, training materials on Air-related topics

Qualifications
• Must have at least 3 years in the metal recycling industry.
• Must pass a medical physical and drug test
• Must pass a background check and credit check
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
• Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
• An understanding of the OSHA regulations well enough to interpret, inspect, and train all company personnel.
• Possess interpersonal skills to gain support of workforce and clientele when conducting business
• Completed course work and Certifications that follows OSHA, Air and Environmental regulations preferred

Physical Requirements
• Work Environment: Office, with daily visits through the scrap metal facility
• Equipment & Tools: Office equipment and safe operation of scrap yard equipment and machinery
• Physical Demand Level: Light to moderate
• Work Capacity: Lifting & carrying 35lb loads
• Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, touch, smell and taste
• Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, gripping, keyboard
