Duties
- Review and verify all loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and federal regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and Fair Housing laws.
- Coordinate with underwriters, loan officers, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely loan closings.
- Prepare and review closing disclosures, contracts, and settlement statements to ensure all terms are correct and compliant.
- Manage escrow accounts, ensuring proper disbursement of funds and adherence to mortgage servicing protocols.
- Conduct final audits of loan files, verifying credit analysis, income verification, and collateral documentation before closing.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain closing procedures, answer questions, and ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain detailed records of all closing activities, including 10-key typing entries and other required documentation for audit purposes.
Skills
- Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, underwriting processes, and mortgage servicing standards.
- Proven experience in loan origination, processing, or closing within the financial services or banking industry.
- Knowledge of TILA regulations, fair housing laws, and mortgage contracts to ensure compliance.
