Job Overview
S2 Manufacturing designs, manufactures, and supplies worldwide a complete line of mobile and stationary ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal and scrap vehicle crushers and balers. S2 also manufactures the Vammas line of large high speed / high-capacity snow removal machines used at major airports. We currently have openings for Assembly Technicians. This position is on-site at our Ottumwa, IA facility.
Join our manufacturing team as an Assembly Technician, where your mechanical aptitude and attention to detail will drive the creation of high-quality products. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling components with precision, interpreting schematics and blueprints, and utilizing a variety of hand and power tools. Your expertise will ensure that each product meets strict quality standards while maintaining efficient production flow. Responsibilities
- Assembles machines, and their subassemblies using blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.
- Installs components, bolts, and screws them together according to specifications.
- Attaches door, panels, other machine guarding, and details machine before shipping.
- Tests or assists in the testing operation of completed machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse or manufacturing floor to promote safety and efficiency.
- Assist in inventory management by handling warehouse materials responsibly and ensuring proper storage of parts and tools.
- Responsible for filing out check sheets to verify completed work.
- Work in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.
- Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or assembly environments.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings essential for accurate assembly.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality control during assembly processes.
- Basic understanding of machining techniques and welding practices preferred.

Pay: $20.50 - $22.50 per hour
