Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Inventory Specialist to support our warehouse operations in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will oversee inventory accuracy, manage stock levels, coordinate shipping and receiving, and ensure that all parts and materials are stored, tracked, and distributed efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Perform and oversee shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring all materials are processed correctly and documented.
- Organize, label, and stock inventory in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Utilize inventory management software and internal systems to track stock movement, process orders, and monitor replenishment needs.
- Prepare, pick, and fulfill internal and external orders with a high level of accuracy.
- Collaborate with purchasing, service, and warehouse teams to maintain proper stock levels and support operational needs.
- Assist with parts inquiries and provide support at the parts counter, as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory procedures, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or parts management.
- Strong computer skills; experience using inventory or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in parts, automotive, industrial, mechanical, or petroleum equipment environments.
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices and cycle-counting procedures.
